• TysonsTunnel.org strongly supports the extension of Metrorail from East Falls Church, through Tysons Corner, to Dulles Airport and beyond.

• The Commonwealth engaged Dulles Transit partners (Bechtel and Washington Group
International) for Preliminary Engineering work which includes an Elevated Rail through most of Tysons.

• The Commonwealth is now negotiating exclusively with Dulles Transit Partners for final Design and Construction work on the project without competitive bidding. However, it is in the best interest of our community to achieve the following:

1. Public, competitive bidding of the Final Design and Construction work.

2. Simultaneous consideration of the 3.5 mile tunnel under Tysons Corner.

3. Side-by-side competitive bidding of the Tysons Tunnel and the Elevated
Rail before a final decision is made.
